A Finishing Touch

At Cast-Rite, we don’t just manufacture die-cast parts–we also add a finishing touch to the parts that we machine. We have years of experience in dealing with a wide variety of surface finishings, such as:

Chem Film

Also called Alodine, this is a chemical-conversion coating that protects aluminum parts from corrosion without affecting the product, even if it’s painted over.

Powder Coating

This dry-finishing process forms a protective shell on the surface of the metal part, giving it corrosion resistance and a durable finish. It also can come in multiple colors, giving this finish an aesthetic advantage as well.

Anodizing

This electrochemical process converts the metal surface of a product–most commonly aluminum, but magnesium works as well–into a decorative and durable finish that is resistant to corrosion and aesthetically pleasing as well.

Chromate

Chromate treatments apply a chromium compound to a metal surface, giving the metal a corrosion-resistant finish. This type of surface finish can also give the metal a decorative appearance, and it’s an effective base for many types of paint. Not only that, but it also allows the metal to keep its electrical conductivity.

Vibratory Deburring

During this process, a container of the workpieces and some tumbling media is vibrated so that the media rubs against the workpieces, giving them a shiny finish.

Shot Blast Finish

This resurfacing process removes debris and irregularities from the metal parts, cleaning them up and preparing them for any painting that needs to be done.

Sandblast Finish

Also known as abrasive blasting, this process involves a machine that sprays particles under high pressure against a surface, creating a smoother, more even texture.

Nearly all of our surface finishes meet the Military Specifications set by the U.S. Department of Defense, and they will always meet customer expectations.
